Ah, Greenwich Village! It’s one of my favorite parts of the city. Greenwich, or what New Yorkers call “the village”, has a certain charm you can’t find anywhere else in the city. Say goodbye to gridded streets; instead, you’ll find roads that merge, suddenly cut off, and start, like in France.
If you want to spend the day there, see my suggestions to ensure you get the most out of your visit. First, start your day with a light breakfast, possibly a juice at Joe & the Juice. This juice bar also has smoothies and sandwiches. After breakfast, try a food tour. The company Foods of NY offers tours of all different parts of New York, and its tour of the village is my favorite! You’ll get to try lots of local spots and learn some interesting history about the neighborhood as you walk around for a few hours. I do not want to spoil too much, but one of the most delicious foods I have ever tried is on this tour.
Afterwards, you will likely be tired and no longer hungry, so I suggest a visit to Washington Square Park to relax. For dinner, you will probably want something light, after a big lunch. I suggest The Butcher’s Daughter, a trendy restaurant that does not use any meat. The restaurant also serves breakfast and lunch. If you want something more filling, try The Little Owl, a great restaurant actually situated in the iconic building from “Friends”. The restaurant mainly offers meat and fish. Another choice is Market Table, which is actually owned by the same company as The Little Owl, and the food is also delicious. This restaurant is perfect for small plates, or tapas.

Those are my top suggestions for Greenwich Village, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you are looking for more ideas!
