A Night in Soho

Last week, I spent a great weekend in Soho, New York, so keep reading to see what I did:

First, I went to dinner at Pera Soho, a Greek restaurant. There was a fun and lively patio, something very unique for New York.

The food was delicious. I had a flatbread with mushrooms, onions, and goat cheese for my appetizer. For my main course, I had the Mediterranean risotto. And finally, I had the chocolate cake for my dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you are looking for a fun night. The restaurant would also be great for big groups.

Next, I went on a sailboat around New York with Sail NYC on the Schooner Adirondack. The boat was very relaxing, and this coming from someone who gets quite sea sick!

I spent the night at the Soho Grand Hotel, a charming hotel perfect for a night. It is very trendy, and the architecture is quite interesting. It is a good hotel that I would recommend if you are looking for a nice, conveniently located hotel, but will be out exploring the city for most of the day. The next day, I went on a quest to try the trendiest foods of the area. First, I went to Dominique Ansel, a very popular boulangerie-pâtisserie, where I had a famous “cronut”, a cross between a croissant and a donut. They make a different flavor every month, and this month was blueberry coconut. The bakers make only 300 cronuts every day, so be sure to come early. Afterwards, I took a break from eating to go to the International Center of Photography. It is a small museum, but great for a short visit. The expositions were very interesting and well done. Afterwards, I headed across town to the Bao Shoppe for some Asian food. Finally, I went to Taiyaki for some Japanese ice cream, which I would definitely recommend!
